Draft for design. Not final legal text.

This policy explains what information Parkina collects when you use the Parkina app, the Owner Portal and this website, and what we do with it.

1. Who we are

Parkina is a parking marketplace based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Parkina is the merchant of record for bookings made in the app, which means we take your payment and issue your receipt.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your name and Ethiopian phone number.
  • Vehicle details: the plate numbers you add, so attendants can match your QR pass.
  • Bookings: facility, time window, amount paid and booking reference.
  • Payment confirmations from TeleBirr: whether a payment succeeded and its reference. We do not receive your TeleBirr PIN.
  • Location: only when you allow it, to show parking near you.
  • Owners: business details, facility details and settlement information you give on the Owner Portal.

3. How we use it

To show available parking, hold your booking, confirm payment, issue receipts, check you in at the gate, settle with facility owners, help you when you contact us, and meet our legal and tax obligations in Ethiopia.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information.

  • The facility you booked sees your plate, booking time and booking reference, so its attendants can check you in.
  • TeleBirr processes your payment.
  • Authorities, where Ethiopian law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as the law requires for receipts and tax. Other account details are kept while your account is open. Retention periods to be confirmed by legal.

6. Your choices

You can turn off location access in your phone settings, edit your vehicles in the app, and ask us for a copy of your information or to close your account.
